Nestled in the valley of the Main Southwest Miramichi River, Doaktown is a village known for its quiet friendliness and easy going lifestyle. Visit us, stay awhile, tour the Atlantic Salmon Museum and the Doak Historic Site. Enjoy a meal in our restaurants and visit our shops. Stay overnight at one of our world famous outfitters where you can enjoy canoeing, kayaking or tubing on the river. Perhaps you want to try fly fishing for an Atlantic salmon. Not far from our village is New Brunswick’s tallest waterfall and one of the few remaining suspension footbridges. While here you may experience a kitchen party with local songs and stories, a church supper, or just relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Our river and forest provide many opportunities for adventure and sightseeing. A popular attraction is the longest suspension footbridge in New Brunswick. The McNamee/ Priceville footbridge spans 200 meters across the Miramichi River offering a spectacular view and for the faint of heart, a clench-fisted walk to the other side.
