Whether you embrace winter in all its glory or would rather embrace a cup of cocoa by a hot fire, with nearly 3 meters of annual snowfall, Miramichi has something for everyone!
Dashing Through the Snow – Fletcher’s Sleighrides is a unique experience you won’t find anywhere else. Hop aboard a horse drawn sleigh as it bounds through a snowy trail to a small cabin where joyous winter activities & hot cocoa awaits.
Snowshoes & Snuggles – A romantic winter getaway at Storeytown Cottages; bundle up for a day of snow shoeing & sliding then cozy up in the privacy of your cottage or warm up in the onsite hot-tub or sauna. This package also includes a 15 minute couples photo shoot, sparkling wine and chocolate / fruit.
Kesik Kelu’lk – In Mi’Kmaq this means “Good Winter”. Traverse by snowshoe paths which have been used for over thirty centuries. At the end of the evening you’ll love to curl up by the crackling wood fire at Red Bank Lodge where each suite is identified by its Mi’Kmaq name and displays a corresponding painting by artist Francine Francis.
Skis & Solitude – Strap on your snowshoes or cross country skies and enjoy the quiet solitude of the forest. Miramichi Cross Country Ski Club offers over 25 km of ski trails! Other local favourites are French Fort Cove & Kouchibougac National Park.
Sled & Stay – With a high annual snowfall and sled-friendly businesses, Miramichi is truly a snowmobiler’s paradise. Learn more about our operators’ 2019 Snowmobile Promotions. If you’re not quite ready to venture out on your own yet, Wilson’s Sporting Camps offer rentals and guided excursions.
Chills and Thrills! The whole family will love the inner-tubes at Storeytown Cottages, perfect for bounding down snowbanks.
Backcountry Bliss – Strap on your skis and make your way to Petit Large, Kouchibouguac National Park’s back-country camping site. While you’re visiting the park, don’t miss other great experiences like Fat Biking!
