City folk spend the day helping around the farm and learning about this cherished way of life. Everyone pitches in with the chores! Feed the cows, horses, goats and chickens. Gather eggs from the hens and help out in the vegetable garden. Find out how our food is grown and why farms are still so important to all of us. This homestead dates from the 19th-century and the hosts have stories and tales to tell about the way farm life used to be. Put on your hat or bonnet for a period touch. Ride the horse and wagon, take some time to beach-comb along the shore and enjoy crafts and traditional Scottish games. Kids especially love petting the animals and joining in a singsong of “Old MacDonald had a Farm”!
