The Historic MacDonald Farm site in Bartibog overlooks the Miramichi River. To discover its secrets and appreciate the charming scenery, visitors take a horse drawn wagon along a winding trail leading to the spectacular historic homestead. A tour of the fine stone house, built in the Georgian tradition, in the company of the costumed guides will take you back to the 1820s when the family of Scottish settler Alexander MacDonald who helped to develop the area. Marvel at the embroidery and domestic crafts, observe the gardening practices and the family chores of caring for farm animals. Then, each year over the holiday season, the farm dons its most beautiful and traditional holiday decor for guests to admire along with a traditional nativity scene.
