Four Diverse Events, One City

Four Diverse Events, One City

Our city has many different people that live in the confines we call Miramichi, and with the mixture of people, we have a multitude of different cultures and interests.  This weekend, there are many of these activities and cultural events that you can get the chance to go and experience.

Starting with Canada’s largest Irish gathering happening at Waterford Green, just beside the Rodd River Hotels; there will be live music, entertainment and even an Irish theatre piece!  If this tickles your Irish, it is one of the worthwhile events happening this weekend in Miramichi!

Next up we have to Natoaganeg Pow Wow!  This culturally rich event starts every morning at 6:00 am at the Eel Ground Pow Wow Ground with a sunrise ceremony and goes all day offering breakfast, a feast for supper, and fireworks!  A day jam filled with dancing, drumming, and giveaways, we’re sure that you will find something that peaks your interest in Natoaganeg this weekend!

Speeding to the next event, we have the 4th annual NHRA drag race at the Miramichi Dragway.  With racers and cars coming from all over atlantic Canada and the north east of the United States, there is so much talent and variety to witness!  If you’re ready to see some of the most powerful cars in the atlantic region go head to head in a double header race for glory, head to the Miramichi Dragway this weekend!

Miramichi also has some of the best hidden talent among actors, including some that have gone on to act professionally in Ontario, and even London, England!  CM Productions is putting on Neil Simon’s ‘The Prisoner of Second Avenue’ at Miramichi Valley High School all weekend.  This hilarious play will have you rolling on the floor laughing all night long, as only Neil Simon can do!
