Time to Cork Your Boots and Go Ashore

“Time to cork your boots and come aboard!” – Azade Haché.

Story time with Azade on his famous boat – the Max Atiken kept us thoroughly entertained for a couple hours as we sailed down and back the Miramichi River.  Having had Azade as a teacher in middle school, I could always remember him talking about his boat and all the adventures he’s experienced on it.

Aside from giving you a tour of the Miramichi River, including many interesting historical facts, and a lot of the past and existing Miramichi shenanigans, you can ask him about his personal adventures.  He can tell you which way it is to Fredericton, Saint John, or Moncton, and how long it would take to get there from here.

After your delightful tour on the Max Aitken, you are welcomed back to the sounds of live music, and if you’ve got a craving for something there are a few places to snack or dine right at Ritchie’s Wharf. If you’re just looking to snack, Brandi’s Dairy Delight and the Candy Patch have great selections to satisfy your sweet tooth craving! If you’re looking for more of a meal, or a casual glass of wine or cocktail with friends, Vera’s Kitchen & Bar has some great selections! With a riverside view of the Miramichi River from their second story terrace, you can enjoy your food while gazing either direction up or down the Miramichi River.
