Upper Miramichi

Cast your line on our river, sleep in famous fishing lodges, canoe our rippling waters, explore our forests, saunter along our shores, admire the structure of the Nelson Hollow Bridge, the only remaining bridge with a cottage roof, lie under the stars on a 650-foot long swinging bridge, walk or bike our magnificent trail system, view fish jumping Porter Brook Falls, or meet the characters of our forest at the Central New Brunswick Woodmen’s Museum. Discover the cathedral Red Pines at the Upper Miramichi Community Park while the kids explore the playground.
In 2011, the Rural Community of Upper Miramichi partnered with our local Miramichi River Tourism Association to host the first “River Stop” at the Priceville Footbridge. “River Stops” give visitors the opportunity to view the Miramichi River, all the while, learning about our heritage. At the Priceville Footbridge, you will experience the story of a community gripped by fear and sadness when the bridge is swept away in the raging Spring waters over 60 years ago.
Upper Miramichi, in partnership with the Woodmen’s Museum and many other community organizations

assists with festivals and community events, community suppers, Canada Day Celebrations, an amazing Forest
Festival, and Winter Fun Days!
Experience our local way of life by attending events and celebrations, logging & fishing competitions, craft displays and church suppers. When we meet you in the community you’ll always find a friendly smile and a, “How’s she goin’?”
