Celebrate Canada in the Miramichi Region! With a variety of events including street dances, fireworks, live music and more, it’s sure to be a great time on the Miramichi!

June 30

7pm Opening Ceremonies of Rock ‘n’ Roll Festival and Street Dance

8pm-10pm Live entertainment by Eric Hendricks & Debbie Muck at Blackville Municipal Park Blackville Municipal Park

10:00 pm – 1:30am Adult Dance with Entertainment by Oldschool at Newcastle Waterfront Parking Lot ($20)

10:30pm Fireworks presented by the Rock ‘n’ Roll Festival in the Newcastle Waterfront Parking lot

July 1

Miramichi Regional Multicultural Association (MRMA) will be at the Historical Downtowns area to provide face painting, henna art and caricature drawings and performances.

6am Fishermen’s Powwow Sunrise Ceremony at Waterford Green

7am-11am Village of Blackville Canada Day Breakfast at Father AA Mckinnon Hall Bacon, eggs, toast, hash browns & beverages ($7 adult, $4 child)

9am Fishermen’s Powwow Parade of Boats at Waterford Green

10am Fishemen’s Powwow grand entry, opening speeches & artisan village opening for the day

10am-4pm Music, performers and vendors in the Historic Chatham Business District

10:30-12 Guest speakers & Cultural Entertainment at Waterford Green as part of Fishermen’s Powwow

12pm-2pm Village of Blackville Strawberry tea at St. Raphaels C.W.L or Father AA. Mckinnon Hall with strawberry shortcake and tea ($5)

12-4pm Music, pony rides, a petting zoo, a jumping castle and a balloon artist in the Newcastle Business District

12-4pm Kids games, balloon artist, jumping castles, dunk tank, chalk art on Water St.

12pm Family BBQ, yard sale, cake and activities such as face painting, a bouncy castle and water activities at the Central NB Woodmen’s Museum ($2)

1pm Red White and Proud Parade begins at the Miramichi Medical Arts centre proceeding to Miramichi Mall

2pm Grand opening ceremonies of Doaktown Community Park with complimentary hotdogs, pop, cake and children’s activities

2:15 Fishemen’s Powwow closing remarks

2-4pm Strawberry tea at King George Bed and Breakfast. We’ll have Strawberry Lemonade Tea accompanied by finger sandwiches, and our special Strawberry Cream Tea Cake to celebrate Canada Day and the season! Seating is limited, reservations required. 2-4:30pm The Rock ‘n’ Roll Festival presents Rock ‘n’ Rumble NWE Wrestling under the big tent in Newcastle Waterfront Parking Lot

3pm Village of Blackville Canada parade beginning at Hooked ‘n’ Cooked and proceeding to Circle K

3 – 3:30pm Miramichi Police Dog Unit Demonstration in the Historic Chatham Business District

3:30 – 3:45pm Annual kids Doll Carriage, Wagon & Bicycle Parade in the Historic Chatham Business District

6-10pm Live Entertainment by Roy Wright & Ian Mahoney at the Jane St. Grill and Rotisserie to celebrate the opening of their new dock

7pm Miramichi Sings Choral Group under direction of Margaret Craig host a Canada Day Concert at St. Mary’s Church, Newcastle with reception to follow. Soloists include Paul Gregoire, Rick Sugden, Norma Crawford, Kennedy Coughlan, Jenson Blacquire, Ian Craig, Jimmy Lawlor, Mary and Susan Butler. (Admission is a free will offering)

7-9pm Live entertainment at Doaktown Community Park

7-9pm Folk band Winter’s Warmth perform at Beaverbrook Historic House (admission is a free will offering)
