Four Fall Getaways for Four Legged Friends

Four Fall Getaways for Four Legged Friends

You’ve booked a few days off, you’ve got your suitcase packed… but you don’t have a dog sitter. Why not bring your barker half with you for a fall getaway on the Miramichi! Here are four suggestions for you and your four legged friend.

1. Upland Bird Hunting at Ledges Inn
This one requires a specially trained dog, but you already knew that! You and your dog can have matching hunting vests when you bring them to retrieve your trophies. If you are lacking in the dog department, follow behind their Britney’s, English Pointers or Irish Setters.

2. A Nature Getaway at Storeytown Cottages
The official greeting committee at Storeytown Cottages has four legs and a wagging tail. His name is Storeytown Scotch (follow his adventures on instagram: @storeytownscotch) Storeytown offers a convenient location only a few minutes drive to the awesome hiking trail Fall Brook Falls or the Priceville Footbridge. Best of all, pets stay free at Storeytown Cottages (pursuant to their pets policy).

3. An Urban Retreat with Rodd Miramichi
Rodd Resort offers a convenient location in the heart of Miramichi East and has a special pets section of the resort. Take your pooch on a stroll whether it is through the historic shopping district, along the river front gravel trail or take a short drive to explore Middle Island Historical park!

4. A Cozy Getaway at Regent Street Bed and Breakfast
You will love this quaint B&B renowned for its personal touches. At Regent Street B&B pets stay free! On Fridays stroll to the Newcastle farmers market in less than 15 minutes to grab a bag of home made, all natural ingredient dog treats! This location is also only a few minutes drive from French Fort Cove, one of Miramichi’s premiere hiking destinations. Grab some instagram worthy shots of you and your pup with the changing leaves! (For more cute photos of the featured dog follow @TexasTheDoodle on Instagram!)
